Rotaract Club
The Rotaract Club was started in DAV College for girls in 2007-08 with the motive of “SERVICE ABOVE SELF”
Aims and Objectives:-
Rotaract is an organisation that gives young people the opportunity to do something different! It is an international organisation, sponsored by Rotary Club, for 18 - 30 year olds who get involved in community, fund raising and social events. It brings together like minded, active people who want to make a difference to their lives, and those of others. It instills in them confidence and a feeling to do something for the society. They are active, enthusiastic and want to make a difference .Rotaract club programs for students and youth can change the lives of those who participate.Through these programs, young people can earn scholarships, travel on cultural exchanges, or help a community through a service project.
Functions :-
- We organise and attend numerous social events, conferences and campaigns like the polio campaign, Collection of old clothes etc.
- We also get chance to develop skills which help with other areas of life and prove invaluable to professional development.
- Actively involved in Beti bachao beti padhao campaign.
- Actively propagating Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan.
- In the campus time and again Rotractors are given powerpoint presentations by the faculty or experts regarding:-
- Balanced diet
- Personality development
- Food safety
- Food hygiene
- Stress management
- Resource management
- Health and diseases during adolescence
